Our Adventure

Today Amelia and I went to our regional amusement park with Aunt Nancy, Lauren and Lauren's friend Shannon. We had planned to go later in July the next time we visit Aunt Laurie, but Nancy really wanted to see Amelia go on the rides.
It wasn't very warm today and it was REALLY windy, which was kind of nice as we never got hot. However we did avoid the water rides as that would have been COLD!
Amelia wanted to go on the train first, but was sidetracked at the Carousel...she loved it as always Then we went on the train and Amelia checked out the park and everything she wanted to do today. Next it was on to the balloon ride where Mommy got a little tummy ache from going in circles for too long (I'd rather go on a roller coaster) and Amelia got "DIZZY!" Then Amelia drove a ladybug which she liked, but not as much as the balloons. After a few more rides it was time to stop for some games. Amelia won two little penguins at the Ducky game and a BIG frog at the fishing game. She was pretty proud of herself. Next Amelia and Nancy went on the Wagon Ferris Wheel. They really liked it and it was 1 of 2 rides Aunt Nancy went on today:)

Then she drove a boat...way too fast!
Our final stop before lunch was the FROG HOPPER! Amelia LOVED this ride, I think she'd have gone on it over and over if I'd have let her. Just listen to those giggles!
While we were waiting in line for lunch Amelia crashed! She fell asleep so hard and there was no waking her. After about a 1/2 hour Lauren leaned over and said, "Do you want food?" Those magic words made her move, but me laying her back in the stroller woke her up. She popped right up ate lunch and was ready to roll. She really like the funnel cake we had for desert...Our next ride was a roller coaster! Well, kind of; it's more like an underground train. I couldn't remember ever going on it and Nancy (the queen of over protectiveness) said it was safe so off we went. Nancy, Lauren, Shannon, me and Amelia all on the same ride. Amelia loved the ride, she did not however like the scary looking men that were placed in the dark along the ride. She didn't cry, but leaned over to me and said, "Momma this is scary!" It was over fast and she said, "I don't wanna do that one again." So it was back to the children's rides where she drove a big rig and rode a pink motorcycle Then it was one more trip on the Frog Hopper I had promised Amelia all day that I would go on the BIG Ferris Wheel with her. I REALLY HATE Ferris Wheels, the last time I was on one I had a panic attack...and remember when I said it was REALLY WINDY? The carts were swinging back and forth. Well, Lauren, Shannon, Amelia and I boarded the wheel of death and I'm still here to type about it. It was HUGE, 6 people could fit in each cart and there were no seat belts! Amelia went to sit by Lauren because I was squeezing her too hard;) It was a nice view, but Shannon and I both agreed that it was NOT FUN. Amelia on the other hand, LOVED it. Note: Nancy not only didn't ride, she went into a store so she wouldn't have to watch us ride it!
We really had a fun day and if Amelia has her way we may go again this summer:)

Looks like a blast! Aunt Tammie went on the Frog Hopper at Mall of America! Katie was afraid to go on it alone so I joined her. For the rest of the day parents stopped my and let me know they saw my on the Frog Hopper!! I think that should have gotten me "Mom of the Year"

I didn't realize Aunt Nancy wasn't into the rides. I am sure the shopping there was pretty exciting! Great diversion though!
Thanks for the awesome pictures and video about the day. Maybe next year we will join you!
