4 -Year Check-Up
We got to bed quite late last night because after bath Amelia decided to draw ALL over herself with a BLACK dry-erase marker. I'm talking toe to neck, arms, legs, hands, feet and torso...she didn't do her face. I didn't even think to take a photo...I just grabbed her and put her in the shower. I scrubbed her down and even the bubbles were black. Of course I couldn't get it all off so she had some weird markings on her body today. AHHH!
Amelia had her 4-Year Well Check today and after reading this I was a little frightened. Amelia doing well at the doctor really depends on her mood, but knowing she may be in for many shots I gave her a couple of Tylenol right as we left daycare. I warned her Wednesday night that she would be getting shots at the doctor, but I honestly told her I didn't know how many.
She totally cracked the nurse up, every time she told Amelia what she was going to do Amelia responded, "I know that!" Her visit with Dr. K went great. I LOVE listening to Amelia talk to the Doctor because she ALWAYS tells a fib about something. Last year it was about how often she brushes her teeth, this year it was about where she sleeps...cracks me up. I always tell her she needs to tell Dr. K the truth so she can take good care of her...hmmm not listening??
We got through her physical with nothing exciting happening. Then it was time for the shots. All 5 of them!! Two nurses came in they did 2 rounds of 2 shots each and then 1 nurse did 1 shot. After the second round, Amelia yelled, "OOOOOUCH that HURT!" but that was IT! One of the nurses said in disbelief, "I've NEVER seen a 4-year-old take those shots like that!" Her legs really hurt last night, but the cool band aides helped. I got called at 4 today to come pick her up at daycare because she had a temp, go figure! Not unexpected after all of those vaccinations.
Amelia grew more than I thought, 3 inches, however she only gained 3 pounds. She's 39 1/4 inches tall (33rd Percentile) and now weighs 31.8 pounds (20th Percentile). Yes, she's still a little peanut:) I didn't get the exact measurements or where she's at on the growth chart, Dr. K said she was doing great and that's what matters! My "Boo Baby" sure is growing up big and strong!

What a brave girl you have....5 shots and no tears??? That is amazing!!
Hope the fever has cleared and she is back to herself!

Those lovely five shots. Sounds like Amelia handled it better than Tahlia ;-)
what a brave girl! Glad all is well. Oh the markeer thing we have had that happen too!
Yikes 5 shots...that's alot. Amelia sure is brave. I am sure Emma would have been REALLY ticked. We get the flu shot right away so we shall see how she handles it. Emma and Amelia are about the same size I think. Haven't measured Emma recently but she is about the same weight.
